Visualization“If you can generate the same emotions that you will have when your desire is fulfilled, you align vibrationally with the reality of the desire fulfilled, and thus become a magnet to it.” ~Bob Doyle
This quote from Bob Doyle is what visualizing is all about. In order to get in sync with what we desire, we have to become a match to it, in a vibrational/feeling sense. We have to “become it” energetically. Energy is what creates, it is the mechanism behind the Law of Attraction. It is the magnetic field that attracts those filings to us. And the way we do it is by utilizing our feeling nature, or our emotions. Visualizing lets us find and magnify those postive feelings. When we focus our imagination on what we desire, and on having it, we create the energy of it; this is what attracts it to us. So when we spend time focusing on it (by writing it down, or meditating, or collecting pictures), we are generating power behind the energy of our desire. Building up a fire. Adding HeatWhen we want to change water, for example, from liquid to steam, we have to add energy in the form of heat. The water gets hotter and hotter but is still liquid, until the amount of heat energy applied becomes enough to cause the shift; it boils and gives off steam. If enough energy is applied, it becomes totally transformed to steam. This can happen slowly or quickly, depending on how much energy is applied. This is what we are doing in manifesting: causing an emotional image to be transformed into a physical one. In this case the transforming agent is not heat energy but emotional intensity. And the best way to increase that is by our attention in the form of writing/visualizing/imaging the results that we desire. There are many techniques for doing this that you will find beneficial. You can do it through meditation, going into a quiet and centered state in which you can build up the image and its environment very carefully. You can use other imaginative techniques: making a mental movie, writing an imaginary story, or going forward in time to view your life in the future. If you have trouble making mental images, try creating an actual photo collage. This brings the visionary images into a concrete form in a helpful way. Reality, Memory, Imagination—It’s All The SameYour brain can’t tell the difference between something that is actually happening, something you remember, or something you imagine. Isn’t that an amazing thing? And can’t you just see how that can be used to improve your reality? If you can give your brain an image to work with, it will “see” reality that way. It will operate as if that image were real. It will help you make it real. Nikola Tesla was a brilliant scientist and inventor. He invented alternating current (A/C) electrical power, the "Tesla Coil", and the radio (ultimately the credit was given to Marconi). He made intuitive and inspired leaps of imagination that are astonishing. This is how he worked: “My method is different,” he wrote. “I do not rush into actual work. When I get an idea I start at once building it up in my imagination. I change the construction, make improvements and operate the device in my mind. It is absolutely immaterial to me whether I run my turbine in my thought or test it in my shop. I even note if it is out of balance.” He claimed he was able to perfect a conception without touching anything. Only when all the faults had been corrected in his brain did he put the device into concrete form. “Invariably,” he wrote, “my device works as I conceived that it should…In twenty years there has not been a single exception. Why should it be otherwise?” (Tesla, Margaret Cheney). Yes. Why should it be otherwise? If we create our reality in our mind, detail by detail, piece by piece, emotion by emotion, we are creating a template or pattern that the universe will respond to. You Already Do ItHow much time every day do you spend visualizing? I bet it’s more than you think. Do you have mental arguments with your mother or your boss? Do you replay scenes that bring up strong emotions? Do you watch other people have what you don’t—people meeting their lovers at restaurants, people driving the cars you would like to have, people in stores buying what you would like to buy? These are all visualizations that lead to continuing lack or conflict or unhappiness. We can see it in these few examples. This should convince us that we already know how to do it. We just need to change our focus from seeing those images of what is to those that we want to attract. Yes, I know, “just” doesn’t do justice to the difficulty of the process! But really, we aren’t learning a new technique; we are learning new content. It’s a simple thing and requires only dedication and commitment. It's like learning to read versus learning a new field of information. Learning to read is hard; sometimes it takes a child years. Why? Because it's an entirely new skill; they first have to figure out how the whole system works before they can begin to get any information out of it. But when we as adults want to learn something new, we already know how to read about it; we simply have to learn some new words or concepts, maybe look a few things up in dictionaries or consult some reference books. Visualizing is like that; learning new content. We already have the skill, we do it all the time. That's how we created the reality that is already in our lives. Now we are learning to be more selective, and create the reality that we choose. The key is to be aware of what we are creating. Try and track your visualizations for a day or two. Daydreams, interior dialogues and fantasies are all part of the process. See what goes on in your mind. Then begin to be selective about it. Instead of letting those scenes just run on their own, start guiding the imagery with your committed decision of what you want in mind, and with your positive intention. It takes practice, and some attention at first, but you'll find you get better at it as you do it. Learning to “see” what you want in your reality, and to feel it in your emotions, is one of the most important steps in the process of learning to become a conscious creator. All creation happens first on the energy level. It all starts inside us; the physical manifestation of it is just the ultimate expression of what already exists. By Margie Waters
