The simple act of praising God, or the Law, is one of the most
powerful ways of quickening the receipt of our desires, to almost magical
proportions. This principle has been around for thousands of years, written
about in the Bible and other ancient texts. People in ancient civilizations
(and those of today) often brought gifts for their Gods, and sang and danced to
express their gratitude.
This does
not affect God in any particular way, and you do not gain particular favor from
the Universe for your actions. Rather, it affects you personally. Praise
is complementary to faith. “Whereas faith is wisdom and understanding, praise
is the application of that understanding.” Praise empowers your faith, and
quickens your prayer to magnetize all the good around you. And it transforms
all that good into the physical, for your utility.
When man
praises the Law, he lifts his consciousness upward to a higher realm and
becomes a channel to receive all the good that is waiting for him. Praise draws
you closer to the Universe and lets you attune to the Divine forces within and
around you. Praise is the shortest route to your desires. It expands the mind
and opens it up to see greater things, while condemnation and criticism does
the opposite.
Notice how
praise affects children. They glow with appreciation, and they try even harder
to please you. If you criticize them, they turn their eyes downward, and slink
away, and fight you the next time you ask them for something. The same
principle works in all ways, all the time. Even our physical bodies respond
positively to praise—our energy level increases, and even our cells respond favorably.
The
invisible ether all around us reacts to all thoughts, good and bad. As praise
is given, there is a great expansion of power and intelligence in all things.
This increase affects our being, and everything we touch, and every person with
which we come into contact.
Although
praise does wonders for other people and things, it provides even more benefit
to us. Praise changes our entire outlook on life. Where we once saw fault, we
now see strength and perfection. We acknowledge the good things, and the beauty
in others. We in turn are able to radiate joy, courage, and happiness to all
who are affected by our influence. Even our thoughts turn positive, which
creates a default mental state of expansion and positive expression.
Praise
should be used in anticipation of future blessings, not just for the past. This
makes praise an expression of faith of the good things to come.
“When one
can sing praises in the face of adversity, the adversity will soon disappear.
That is not a promise; that is a Law. Learn to render praise, to be thankful
for the good at hand, and you will have found the magic lamp of Spirit.”
To be able
to praise the Law when things appear the darkest is the fastest way to get to
the lighter side. Our degree of faith in the Law is measured before we receive,
not afterwards. And that degree of faith determines what we are capable of
receiving.
“The Law of
Praise will lift you from sickness to health; it will raise you from ignorance
to intelligence, from poverty to affluence, from weakness to strength, from
fear to courage. In fact the Law of Praise will promote you in all things and
in all ways. Begin using the Law now.”
Regardless
of your current condition, it’s a good place to start. Express praise for all
the good you have in your life, and for the magnificence of the Universe. It
will bring you only good in return.
